The DPUG meets quarterly at accessible venues across the borough of Croydon and at different times, to enable a wide range of recipients to be able to attend. Direct Payments news and updates are also sent to every recipient each quarter, every 3 months, so that if you cannot attend a meeting, you can keep in touch with what is happening within Direct Payments in Croydon.

Peer Support
Peer Support is primarily to share your experience with another in a comparable situation. Most people generally find that this sort of exchange can have benefits for both parties. If you are very new to Direct Payments, it is hoped the contact with a more experienced person will be reassuring. If you have had Direct Payments a while, the networking is an opportunity to put your first-hand experience to good use and help someone avoid the most common pitfalls.
However, it is NOT intended to replace the work of the Direct Payments Advisor, and if you feel you are being asked to provide advice or information you are not comfortable with giving, please do refer the person back to the Direct Payments Advisor.
Confidentiality
Any information exchanged by either party should be treated as strictly confidential unless otherwise indicated by the party concerned.
Ending the arrangement
You are of course free to end any networking arrangement at any stage and for any reason. Please inform the Direct Payments Advisor so that they may help set up alternative peer support arrangements.
Thank you
Thank you for considering being part of the network. I hope it will be rewarding for you. Please feel free to call the Direct Payments Advisor on 020 8664 3820 if you have any further questions.
