Direct Payments
What is the PA Network?
The PA Network is being developed to offer an easier, quicker and less expensive way for people to recruit Personal Assistants (PAs). This could be for full-time or part-time positions or to find a PA to provide cover when needed.
It also provides those who want to work as PAs with an easy and alternative way of finding employment.
The PA Network has both clients (for instance people in receipt of Direct Payments) and PA members.
How does it work?
PA members complete a form giving information similar to that included in a job application. Client members are sent copies of these (updated as new PAs join the Network) and can contact any PA whom they think might be suitable.
The standard recruitment process then follows. Direct Payment users will be able to enlist the help of the Direct Payment Support Service should they require this. PAs who join the Network are not vetted. It is a bit like looking through application forms for PAs who have applied for an advertised position. References can be taken up and CRB checks can be arranged where requested.
How does someone become a member?
Membership of the PA Network is free. Both clients and PAs, or anyone interested in becoming a PA, can contact DisabilityCroydon and request a membership pack. This will contain all the information needed to join.
